What is most distinctive about Trollbeads, apart from the original design, is the use and combination of fascinating materials. The beads are made from the highest quality raw materials including sterling silver, 18 carat gold, Italian Murano glass, natural pearls and precious stones.

The original models are typically created in hard modeling wax – cast and finished in metal. Some models are then set with stones. And other models are created directly in molten, red-hot glass.

The concept of Trollbeads charms was developed over the past 25 years. Today, eighteen Danish and internationally renowned jewelry designers create the beads.

Trollbead Love Story – Episode 1...

Any Trollbead lover will love this story. For those who aren't into "beads" just yet. . .well . . hopefully I'll see you soon!

Greetings! A couple of months ago a fellow by the name of Tim, his wife Michele and one of their young children walked into glee. He was carrying a Trollbead bracelet-without any beads. I noticed his wife was VERY somber. I assumed they were having some sort of disagreement; it was clear that SOMETHING was amiss.

The bracelet was way too large for Michele's wrist, so I fitted her for the correct size and left Tim and Michele alone to peruse the beads. Suddenly Michele left the store with her child and waited in the car. Since she seemed to leave abruptly, I once again assumed she was upset about something or wanted to bring her child out to the car (like many of us parents do from time to time.)

After a couple of minutes Tim came to the register with 4 beads. We got to talking where I discovered the real reason why Michele seemed so sad: They just learned he had to ship overseas the next day and would be gone for an entire year. I could only imagine the pain Michele felt knowing that she wouldn't see her husband for a year.

Tim confided that while he was overseas, he wanted to build a Trollbead bracelet for Michele by sending her one Trollbead a month. I almost starting bawling right then and there because I was so touched by the thoughtfulness he had towards his wife and the connection HE felt with the beads. This is a guy who really gets it!! I promised I would take care of all his Trollbead needs for the next 12 months. I gave him a storybook, my business card and off he went.

In July he contacted me from the Mideast. I was thrilled. He chose "Snails in Love" as the bead to add to Michele's bracelet that month. I hand delivered the bead to Michele that night with a special message from Tim that will remain confidential but believe me, when I delivered the bead and the message both Michele and I were in tears.

In all honesty, I am truly honored to be one of the links that keep Tim and Michele connected while he is serving our country overseas. The sacrifice that these folks endure is truly humbling. I can't wait to see what Michele's bracelet looks like a year from now.

Well, I was getting a little nervous last week since we were heading into September and I hadn't heard from Tim yet regarding which bead he wanted to send Michele for the month of August. Lo and behold, last Friday one of Michele's galpals and Trollbead lover, Becky, called me with a message from Tim--he wanted the dolphin bead. He wanted to get the bead to Michele that day before she left on a trip for Labor Day weekend. Another friend of Michele's picked up the dolphin bead at the store and delivered it to her that afternoon.

Ladies, this is the true meaning of "it takes a village".

His chose the dolphin bead for August since he watches the dolphins play in the ocean and it brings him joy. Yes, he is with the Coast Guard.

"Two dolphins swimming around the chain. Dolphins are very intelligent animals with highly developed communication skills. They are adored in many cultures."

A dear friend of our Love Story Couple is Becky. Tim and Becky have been corresponding via e-mail, and Becky called me last week with Tim's request, the Lighthouse Bead. This month Tim wanted to include a poem for Michele, since she loves literature and has been reading a lot of poems lately. The poem is about a journey home. . . .

Meeting at Night
